Welcome To The Return Of The Bricks Site

Welcome all Lego fans to the new Return Of The Bricks website, featuring the Print Store, Blog Area and Gallery. A little about all of these new ventures here and more to come.

The website is something I have been wanting to set up for some time. It will be the place to find all of my content, in every format. I have been a Lego Star Wars fan since 1999 (Day 1), a lot has happened since then that's for sure. The hobby of Lego really came back into my life during the Covid Pandemic and the ensuing Lock Downs. Using my knowledge of Star Wars lore and skills from my profession as a Camera Assistant in the film industry, I decided to photograph some of my old minifigures. I found this process to be very enjoyable, from the set up to the post production and editing. This all ended up growing exponentially into where we find ourselves today. In the works at the moment I have an Original Series, that will soon be ready and uploaded to Youtube. A store that will hopefully sell high quality framed prints along with the works I currently create and post on Instagram. Print Store

Towards the end of 2024 I decided to see what some of my works looked like in print form. I went ahead with this and was so so pleased with what came back, there were a few adjustments to be made. I did not realise that images needed to be slightly brighter for print. Not over exposed of course but just lifted in all areas. Once this was done, I was impressed with how they looked. After selecting some of my favourites in various sizes and framing them, I decided to create this site and store. However it has now gone on to become far more than just the Print Store...

Blog

Here in the Blog section I aim to update Lego fans on all the little things that are happening behind the scenes. All those scraps of content that go missing on the journey. Everything including composition thoughts, new purchases and shot plans. I really want to update this section regularly and make it one of those attractions worth visiting. A lot happens behind the scenes here and it is often over looked and discarded by me, I really do hope this can be a source of inspiration and spark new ideas in other Lego photographers works. Gallery Area

Finally we come to the Gallery Area. This area is simply what I wish Instagram was. I have been, like many in the community increasingly frustrated with updates to Instagram. The platform is not what it once was, what with Algorithms and Reels and so on. Reels are a great example of my frustrations, they are something I have little to no interest in making. If I desired this kind of content I would have a TikTok. The constant changes have contributed to the creation of this site. All my work will continue to be uploaded of course, this will not changing in any way. I just hope there will be more available to see and explore here.
