A set that I still haven't made my mind up on. The UCS Jabba's Sail Barge, this set did generate plenty of complaints when it was first revealed. Some of them I can understand and some of them are a little petty in my eyes.

The Complaints...
As always, most of the complaints were centred around the minifigures included in the set. In classic Lego Star Wars community fashion the build was almost completely ignored, over shadowed by 11 minifigures. Now yes the C3-PO should have been the best available version, particularly when it is currently in production. In addition some more printed legs would have been more than welcome, however Lego continuously release stunning UCS builds only to be met with vague appreciation from the Lego community. Having been a Lego Star Wars fan from day one, I couldn't in my wildest dreams picture a build of this caliber.
I was a little confused to see the Desert Skiff set number 75396 being an addition cause from concern. In my mind this is a generous move by Lego, allowing those who are not moved by or cannot afford the sail barge to have their own slice of Return Of The Jedi. I simply cannot see a down side to the accompanying release here.

The Build
The build here is nothing short of stunning, a great mix of stud and tile on the exterior hull. Moving up to an incredibly detailed and removable deck. Really love this image above with Princess Leia stationed by the Deck Canon. I especially enjoy the detailed railings and blaster positions.
The fully fleshed out interior can be accessed from both above and below. With ample space for all the minifigures within the set. I think this set most certainly passes the shelf test, what with it being a great shape and size. I don't doubt it would look fantastic as part of a display. Not to mention how great the accompanying set
I haven't decided if I myself will go for this set just yet. While I do like it I am not sure whether it is my top priority right now, I am interested in seeing the Jango Fett Slave 1 before I make my decision.
