The UCS Jango Fett's Slave 1, or what will more likely be known as the UCS Jango Fett's Starship. If I am being honest I have always enjoyed this ship, it is very unique and iconic of course. So news of a new UCS version in 2025 is exciting.
What We Know So Far
The Slave 1 rumoured to be set number 75409 is certainly an exciting prospect. I own the original UCS Boba Fett Slave 1, a wonderful set that I managed to get for a steal on Brick Link making it all the sweeter. I find it very interesting that this set is rumoured to have 2970 pieces which is way more than the prior UCS set, only boasting 1996 pieces. I know in the past few years Lego have been using smaller more intricate parts and techniques to great effect. But based on this I have to imaging this set being a similar size if not a little larger than Boba's version of the ship. I mean surly there is no way around the fact that it has almost 1000 more pieces, not forgetting that it may or may not include a display stand like the previous build...
Minifigures and Play Scale
The set is also rumoured to include a highly detailed Jango Fett figure, along with a young Boba. The figures I have very little interest in, I have what I consider a pretty great looking Jango which I plan to create some work with very soon, I am very much in it for the build, which with a set like this I think is how it should be. However it is still exciting, the last time we saw a Jango Fett was in 2017 however the last Slave 1 came to us in 2002. So very much overdue, I was so excited pairing the original Slave 1 with Obi-Wan's Jedi star fighter, they went so well together. If only I still had it intact, would make a wild side by side comparison.
If a UCS set like this is a little out of reach, it would appear Lego has you covered. A very recent rumour suggests that later in the year a play scale version of Slave 1 will release, so everyone should have their chance to pick up a new Jango Fett. Another set that would make a great side by side comparison with the original Slave 1.
