Here we have some Lego community hot takes, via the Return Of The Brick Instagram. Lets get right into some of these...

@bricksinframe "Clones are overrated"

I can't lie I kind of know what you're saying here, I don't know if I would go as far as to say they are "overrated" but I certainly find myself suffering from Clone fatigue.
I don't know if it's because my dream Clone army is more or less complete (outside of a couple more P1 Pilots, I have squads of 9, all the major legions with printed arms and all the trimmings, anything more than this just feels excessive to me).
It's that or the fact that there are so many custom creators constantly releasing versions of everyones favourite New Zealander. Like seriously most companies seem completely unwilling to venture away from this guy. Sure would like to see more Imperials and well literally any other characters from the expanded universe.
Lego themselves are to blame for this, I know the products sell but it then fuels custom companies to inevitably use their resources to right Lego's wrongs and such. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy working with Clones however sometimes I feel as though I am creating works in order to achieve engagement. Which sort of makes the whole thing feel like work which is something I aim to avoid. But anyway I hope the Clone releases begin to calm and vary soon, I mean it cannot go on indefinitely. Can it?

@moseisleybricks "Andor is shit and overrated"

Yeah now this take sure is hot, I can't fathom how someone could come to this conclusion. It is one of the grittiest, realest and probably the most interesting piece of Star Wars content in recent years.
I mean the Awards and Statistics speak for the shows success. Andor has won 4 Emmys, including Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series. It also has an 8.6/10 on IMDB and a mad 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Not sure what else there is to say, all I can suggest is maybe give it one more shot. I guess to some lightsabers and battles are just essential in Star Wars media.

@matt_valentinn "Saw Garrera and Luthen were the only rational people in the rebellion..."

To be honest, I kind of agree with this. I mean if the struggle is so desperate and the tyranny so great. The goal is to win, by any means necessary. Think how many would have been saved or spared if the Rebellion had fought with a little more ferocity and a few more of Saw's brutal tactics.
I think this is sort of hot take in terms of drama, but I have to imagine if it came to real life
so to speak. Hardship and oppression would create plenty of resistance types, such as Garrera and Rael.

@voidbunny_customs "The Lego style of clone trooper arms is too basic compared to the rest of the body"

I hadn't given this one much thought, my entire Clone Army features the printed arms from Firestar Toys. So I had a look at the few Clones that have printed arms and I must say I can kind of see what you're saying, I did notice that the shoulder armour starts in a strange place. I would say my main issue with the Lego Clone Troopers is the serious lack of consistency. (and the awful helmet holes, and the 2020 animated style...). As a serious Star Wars fan, I am into detail, I wanted all of my Clones to have printed arms in a consistent way, not a few random officers in the 501st. For this I have to say Firestar Toys is the only way to go really. But all in all I agree that Lego could do better...

@dinis73_ "2020 Clone style is the best"

While I'm not sure this is a 'hot take' I think there are many in the Lego Star Wars fandom that feel this way. However I am really not a fan, I have featured a few works in the 2020 Clone style however It's not something I would return to if I could help it. Again Lego just lack the consistency, not to mention the horrendous helmet holes. I really don't see how fans can overlook these. But I think what really killed the 2020 Clone style for me was the first release of the 212th in the AT-TE. The misrepresented printing and the first look at helmet holes, I was done. It was around this time that Clone Army Customs had a huge re-stock and I went all in on the realistic style. I think they are difficult to top, I guess it's just a matter of taste...

Quite enjoyed this one, I hope to be able to provide more in this format very soon. This is the way...
