I gotta say this May 4th let down feeling is very new to me...

So May 4th is only days away, and as a sad Lego obsessed individual, it's one of the best and most exciting times of the year. Usually.
I allot most of my yearly spending to this day when it comes to Lego, the savings are worth it, not to mention GWP's (Gifts with purchases). However this year, there really is nothing that appeals to me. I can appreciate that nothing seems like a crazy statement, but genuinely, I don't want a single new release this year. The only potentials for me were the X-Wing, however I only wanted it to pair with the 2020 X-Wing in a Yavin 4 Hangar scenario, it doesn't really work there and I refuse to buy full sets for one figure and so on. The other set that caught my attention was the Sail Barge, I have had my eye on this set for a while, but I am gonna hedge my bets and wait for the year to progress.

I am pretty pleased that I have been able to see through Lego's marketing and look at what is actually on offer. I have no interest in sublines, Hemets, Brickheads, Buildable Characters, Midi Scale and over sized UCS. All of these things mean nothing to me, I like sets that are scaled well and I'm looking for minifigures to feature in my work, everything else is a waste of a slot to me unfortunatley, and I am not willing to dilute my focused and organised collection just for VIP points or GWP's (I mean a buildable Darksaber? Really? Worst GWP in years in my eyes). So what to do?

This year I have allocated my budget solely to minifigures, via Bricklink (So I guess Lego are benefiting from me after all). It is a great opportunity to get caught up and maybe even to save some money, not to mention taking advantage of the Customs Market, Firestar Toys and others really give May 4th their all and if I'm honest I look forward to what they release as much if not more than Lego themselves, hopefully you are more excited than I am this year, May the Fourth be with you...
