I have been asked a few times on my thoughts regarding this set. As many will know by now, recent rumours have been circulating that 2025 will see Lego's first $1000 set (In the UK possibly coming in just under £1000). Firstly I would like to make it clear that this is not my kind of set, nor are USC Star Destroyers or things like Microfighters. I have curated my collection based around minifigure scale, and I am not really excited by anything outside of this. That being said, I am very intrigued to see how Lego executes this ambitious release...

The Scrutiny This Set Will Face...
This set will face major scrutiny, every single detail will be and in some cases already is under a magnifying glass. I have already seen people on various platforms stating their demands, (as if Lego is actually listening to anything they have to say) not realising that the set is complete by now, most likely in final production stages, or even possibly being packaged and stored until the release.
The demands for duel moulded legs, 30 plus minifigures and this and that are everywhere. Latest rumours state that the set will be fully armoured suggesting a Death Star 1 look, the set will open in half revealing two famous scenes (much like the Lego Bat Cave set). In my mind the scenes in question may be from either Death Star 1 or 2, I could see one being Palpatine's Throne Room, given its prevalence in Return Of The Jedi. I have seen the case made that "we want new scenes we haven't seen in Lego before..." My response to this is, it's a Death Star, there are only so many scenes you can include. I think it is better that we see two well executed scenes, rather than the mess of rooms seen in the previous play scale Death Stars.
Another possibility/prediction of mine is the scene of Luke and Leia spanning the bridge, I think this scene is a possibility due to the structure of a Lego sphere. We can't forget that most of us are predicting this set to be rather large given it's price tag. Due to this size a great deal of the build is likely to be the support structure, so only certain scenes will make good use of that usable space inside.

Conclusions And The Wait
All we can do at this point is speculate and wait for more news. It always tickles me that someone out there has all the answers, if that were me, I would most certainly sit within the Lego Star Wars community with a smug look and enjoying the excitement and build up. Again I am very unlikely to pick up this set, it isn't my think, I would say I was a Star Wars fan first and a Lego on second. That's what I think is responsible for my collecting habits. Things like Jedi Bob and Rebuild the galaxy while being fun are not something I have any interest in.
I think it would be a big shame if this set is torn into by certain Youtube/Instagram personalities if it is missing an R2-D2 back print or some duel moulded legs. If that happens, I think it is telling that those kind of collectors are rather missing the point of a set like this, in my mind this set has been created with a sense of "Could this be done?"
May the force be with you all...
